Austria's highest situated cableway leads to Erzherzog-Johann-Hütte, an alpine shelter at Adlersruhe, below the Groß Glockner Summit. In December 2020 the installation was widely destroyed by a massive avalanche. Just after this, Steurer quickly delivered 5 new support towers to guarantee the steady supply of the hut with all necessary goods. As a second phase of refurbishment the carrier and - quite recently - the whole top station has been replaced. The over-all modernization is planned to be completed next year, by delivering a new drive system and controls. After this, the cableway will also allow the non-public transport of specifically designated persons, in addition to goods only so far.
